Adventure knows no financial boundaries! We are a passionate and inclusive Explorer Scout Unit, dedicated to ensuring that finances never stand in the way of our members’ ability to participate in exciting activities, attend Thursday night meetings, or obtain uniform. Our commitment is to create an environment where every young person has an equal opportunity to explore, learn, and grow, regardless of their financial circumstances.
At Woodseats Explorers, we firmly believe that scouting is for everyone. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to provide financial support to our members whenever they need it. We understand that life can throw unexpected challenges, and we want to ensure that no one misses out on the incredible experiences The Unit offers, due to financial constraints.
Breaking Down Barriers
We are committed to breaking down the financial barriers that can hinder a young person’s participation in Scouting. Here’s how we do it:
Subs
Our weekly Thursday night meetings are the heart of our Explorer Unit.
Regardless of your financial situation, you’re welcome to join us for skill-building, team activities, and fun adventures.
If you’re struggling to pay our monthly subs, we will work with you to ensure and reassure you, this won’t affect anything.
You’re always welcome.
Camps and Activities
Whether it’s a weekend camping trip, a challenging hike, or an international expedition, no one should miss out on these incredible experiences because of financial concerns.
Costs for camps and activities can be extended for up to 12 months, allowing you much greater flexibility. We’ll work with you to develop a flexible payment plan.
You can also apply to The Brian Sellars Trust for assistance in funding adventurous activities. If approved, they will pay The Unit directly.
Uniform
Every Explorer should proudly wear their uniform, and we’re here to make that possible for everyone.
We will work with you to ensure you have access to a Uniform and necker.
How It Works

2 – Assessment
We’ll work with you to understand your needs and assess how best we can provide support.
Your well-being and participation in Scouting are our top priorities. >
3 – Approval
