Woodseats Explorers’ Team Leaders
We are thrilled to announce the appointment of our new Explorer Scout Leaders: Matt Downs and James Bargh!
You’ll already know Matt and Bargh from their years of active involvement within our unit. In fact, both of them have been with Woodseats Explorers since they were 14 themselves.
Together, Matt and James form a dynamic duo of leadership that we are confident will take Woodseats Explorers to new heights. Their shared history within the unit means they already have a deep understanding of our values, traditions, and the incredible potential of our scouts.
As many of you already know, James Godfrey has decided to step down after several years of dedicated service. We want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for everything he has done for this community. His mentorship, guidance, and passion for Scouting have left an indelible mark on all of us.
Matt and James are buzzing with excitement about their plans for The Unit. They are eager to get going and provide all our members with enriching and rewarding experiences.

District Explorer Scout Commissioners
It’s all go recently, as more changes have recently taken place. We’re excited to announce the appointment of our new District Explorer Scout Commissioners: Sid (Richard Hollingworth) and Tom Smith! In fact, they’ve been doing the role, and making changes since April ’23!
As we bid farewell to our esteemed outgoing District Explorer Scout Commissioner, Richard Garrett, we offer a massive thank you for all the effort he has put in over the last 10 years.
